JOZI- This Friday marks the opening day for pioneering and iconic FNB Art Joburg as well the new kid on the block, the debuting Latitudes Art Fair.
Both art fairs will take place from the 13th to the 15th of September in Johannesburg; FNB Art Joburg will be at the Sandton Convention Centre, and Latitudes Art Fair in a large-scale marquee on the open-air of Nelson Mandela Square.
The FNB Art Joburg, under new ownership following an acquisition by its former Director Mandla Sibeko, is celebrating its 11th edition, having established itself as Africa's most important art institution. It will showcase some of the best African contemporary installations, great film screenings, informative panel discussions, as well as exciting music listening sessions, including a Hugh Masekela tribute.
Cape Town galleries that will be showcasing work at the FNB Art Joburg include blank projects, WHATIFTHEWORLD, SMITH, among others.
The new fair, Latitudes, will present a carefully curated selection of galleries, studios and artists from the African continent and across the diasporas. Children 12 and under will enter for free.
