The Zambian Australian-based rapper musician Sampa The Great has finally dropped the long awaited debut full length project amply titled The Return.
The album, released through Ninja Tune, is a follow up to her 2017 EP, Birds & The BEE9 and includes critically acclaimed singles; “Energy” featuring Nadeem Din-Gabisi, as well as “Final Form”.
The 26 year old, having been noticed by Rap's royalty Lauryn Hill and Kendrick Lamar, is a much needed and welcomed addition to Hip Hop's rich tapestry.
The 19-track album beautifully blends hip-hop, funk, R&B, soul, spoken word, and traditional folk chants to tell the story of being a Black woman in Australia.
