
The 23rd edition of the SAWAF, organised by The Playhouse Company, an Agency of the Department of Arts and Culture, took place today in Durban.
The the women-centric arts festival concludes on Saturday, the August 10. One show to look out for is the Traditional Extravaganza Concert which will be on the 9th at the Playhouse, 7PM.

SAWAF, directed by Clare Mortimer , was conceived as a space for showcasing drama, dance, crafts, as well as musical pieces produced/created, performed and inspired by women.
Notable acts will include musician Tu Nokwe, award-winning "Queen of Ndebele" music, Dr Nothembi Mkhwebane, maskandi collective Izingane Zoma, actress and healer Dawn Thandeka King.
