The teaser was released a few days ago to a positive reception among cinema-goers. The film, 'Queen & Slim', is a directorial debut of American filmmaker Melina Matsoukas.
The feature, written by American screenwriter Lena Waithe (The Chi, Dear White People), features Ugandan-British actor Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out, Black Mirror), and Jodie Turner-Smith (Nightflyers).
The story follows the story of a retail employee and a criminal defense lawyer who are on the run after Slim (Kaluuya) kills a police officer in self-defense. It is a tale of a black couple who embark on a journey of self-discovery.
The film will hit the big screen on the 27th of November, 2019.
